Our portfolio
Baugesellschaft Hanau was founded on September 28, 1942, as a non-profit housing construction company and took over the legacy of the simultaneously dissolved housing cooperative with around 100 apartments at the time. From the beginning, there was one primary mission: to create living space for the people in Hanau. After the devastating destruction of the Second World War, the “BauGe” contributed decisively to the reconstruction of the city. Over the decades, it has grown continuously and is now one of the large municipal housing providers in the Rhine-Main region with around 4,200 managed apartments – with the aim of providing affordable, modern, and livable housing for everyone.
Our portfolio is as diverse as the life situations of our tenants. It includes publicly subsidized and privately financed apartments as well as offers for singles, families, young people, seniors, and people with disabilities. The portfolio includes new buildings as well as listed historical buildings and selected commercial properties, which are continuously maintained, modernized, and adapted to today’s residential and usage requirements. A special focus is placed on the energy-efficient renovation of our buildings as well as on the sustainable development of entire neighborhoods to secure affordable and livable housing in Hanau in the long term.
